Welcome to The Omm Life. A space dedicated to helping you live a balanced, stress-free life for mind, body and space.
In a world busy with various agendas and excess “stuff”, our minds, bodies and spaces often become overwhelmed with chaos, clutter and a sense of disorganization…i.e. STRESS.
Clutter inhibits our spaces in the form of “excess stuff”, such as messy closets and drawers; it forms havoc in our minds with crazy schedules, negativity, stress and anxiety; and it hampers our bodies with processed ingredients and chemicals.
But let’s be real…we can’t totally remove stress in our lives, there’s always going to be something, but we can learn to reduce it and become more Zen. The Omm Life is for anyone and everyone to take a minute (or 10) to pause, breathe, relax, de-clutter and de-stress. It’s to help inspire mindfulness, positivity, self-love and balance.
The Omm Life is a way of life.
About the Editor
Hi! My name is Megan and I’ve been blogging for the past nine years at The Gut Gazette, a gluten-free and digestive health lifestyle blog. It’s provided me with so many awesome opportunities, but my other passions weren’t just fitting with the content, so I decided to create a new platform. In September 2016 I launched this new blog (previously under a different name) as a space to share my love for balanced living, practicing mindfulness and yoga, and sharing my favourite tips, products and resources for living a clutter free, balanced, healthy life.
When I’m not blogging, I’m working in the finance world as a communications manager…and when I’m not at work I’m spending time with my husband, family and friends; cooking; practicing yoga; DIY-ing; trying out new makeup; decorating; golfing or playing tennis (just to name a few things)!
I’m all about balance. Balance in terms of work, food, exercise, relaxing, etc. When one aspect of life is unbalanced, stress and anxiety comes into play (for me at least). I haven’t understood the idea of balance my whole life…I’d say just in the past couple of years. Once I started understanding that life is all about balance, my stress and anxiety reduced. I learned what works and what doesn’t work for me.
First of all, the symbol ‘OM’ or ‘AUM’ does not discriminate, anyone can use it. It’s a traditional mantra or vibration that is typically said at the beginning and end of a yoga session. It is considered to help centre our minds, relax our souls and inspire creativity. It’s a sound and symbol that connects us to ourselves. Our mind, body and spirit. You can learn more about it here.
