One of my favourite types of meditation to do when I can’t get my mind to be totally quiet are guided meditations. You don’t have to worry about keeping your mind super quiet in a silent room, you just have to sit or lie still in a quiet room and focus your attention on someone else’s voice.
There are so many great guided meditation YouTube videos online and they’re the perfect, free resource when you need to take 5, 10 or even 45 minutes to chill, relax and ground yourself.
And remember…if your mind wanders during these guided meditations, acknowledge that it’s wandered and then bring it back to the voice in the video. If that happens 100 times, don’t worry, you’re still practicing meditation and like I try to remind myself “practice makes perfect”.
